Arquivet alternatives: real price and reviews (2026)

Arquivet FreshHome is the only one on this list that doesn't need a freezer, but it's dog-only and its reputation barely has a sample to judge.

If you’re looking for alternatives to Arquivet, it’s probably not about the FreshHome stew itself, but about its reputation: only 2 reviews on Trustpilot, far too small a sample to go on, or because you also need something for your cat, which FreshHome doesn’t cover. Where Arquivet does get something right that no other brand in this comparison does: you don’t need a freezer. If that’s your actual problem, Guau&Cat, Natuka and Wild Balance won’t solve it the same way, even if they win on other fronts.

Why people look for alternatives to Arquivet

FreshHome, Arquivet’s range of home-style stews, has a genuine case for itself: cooked, single-protein, grain-free and no need for cold storage. Even so, there are three things that explain why you end up looking elsewhere:

  1. Reputation with almost no sample. 3.4/5 on Trustpilot, but with only 2 reviews. That’s neither a good nor a bad sign, it’s just that there’s barely any data.
  2. It’s dog-only. If you have a cat, FreshHome won’t cover them; Arquivet sells kibble and wet food for cats separately, but not this cooked format.
  3. The price isn’t the lowest in the sector. Between €10.67/kg (with the current discount) and €12.58/kg (regular price), checked today.

Arquivet alternatives: the price comparison

Prices checked on 5 October 2026 (Arquivet, Guau&Cat and Natuka) and on 27 July 2026 (Wild Balance, reconfirmed on 5 October 2026 for formats of 1 kg or more). Natuka raised its prices by around 11% since August.

Brand Price Format Purchase model Dog and cat
Arquivet FreshHome €10.67-12.58/kg Stew, no cold chain One-off purchase or optional subscription Dog only
Guau&Cat €2.95-5.20/kg Frozen One-off purchase, no subscription Yes
Natuka €7.50-12.00/kg Frozen One-off purchase or optional subscription (10% off) Yes
Wild Balance €7-10.50/kg Frozen One-off purchase or no-commitment subscription (10% off) Yes

On price, Arquivet FreshHome is the most expensive of the four. It’s thin on reviews too, though for a different reason than Rovinfood: it’s not that the rating is bad, it’s that there’s barely enough of it to judge. You can check it yourself: Guau&Cat’s 4.5/5 from 197 reviews (checked 5 October 2026) and Natuka’s 4.5/5 from 376 reviews, plus Wild Balance’s backing of over 1,500 reviews spread across three platforms. Where Arquivet does win is logistics: none of the other three frees you from the freezer.

The alternatives, one by one

Guau&Cat, the price option

Cooked, raw and treats, with one-off purchase, no subscription and no lock-in, and a range for dogs and cats. Their full range spans €2.95/kg (BARF chicken, 1 kg format) to €5.20/kg (200 g formats of several cooked dishes), well below Arquivet FreshHome in any scenario (the €2.36/kg figure we published for hake was actually the price of the 500 g pack, i.e. €4.72/kg).

The trade-off: you need a freezer, and their individual dishes aren’t a complete diet on their own, so you should follow their Menu recommendation or a vet nutritionist’s guidance. More detail in our Guau&Cat review.

Natuka, the option with more formats

Raw and cooked menus, wet food, bones and treats, with 4.5/5 from 376 Trustpilot reviews. Price runs from €7.50 to €12.00/kg depending on format and protein (5 October 2026).

The trade-off: it also arrives frozen, and on small packs the price climbs to the high end of the sector. Full profile in our Natuka review.

Wild Balance, the option with the most verifiable reviews

Raw (BARF) diet with over 1,500 real ratings spread across Trustpilot, Google and ProvenExpert, published prices with no questionnaire needed (€7-10.50/kg).

The trade-off: it’s mostly raw, needs a freezer like the others, and the price per kilo climbs faster for large dogs. Full picture in our Wild Balance review.

What if you have a cat?

This is where Arquivet FreshHome is out of the running entirely: there’s no cat version of this format. If you have a cat, or a cat and a dog, Guau&Cat, Natuka and Wild Balance cover both species from the same brand, without needing to combine suppliers.

Which one suits your case

If what’s stopping you is… The answer is…
Not wanting to use a freezer Arquivet FreshHome, it’s the only one with no cold chain
Price Guau&Cat, with no real competition
Having a cat too Guau&Cat, Natuka or Wild Balance, not Arquivet
Reputation with enough of a sample to judge Wild Balance, for its volume of independent reviews
Wanting raw as well as cooked Natuka or Wild Balance

And the rule that always applies: the best diet isn’t the most expensive or the one that complicates your logistics the least, it’s the one you can keep up every month without dropping it after three. If you’re coming from kibble and considering any of these brands, make the switch gradual, over 7-10 days: we explain how in switching your dog from kibble to natural food.
